Should I only allow Google to index a chosen number of SEO optimized pages on my website?

I wonder if it might be helpful to set noindex attribute to pages which are not particularly optimized for the search engines. For example, if I specialize on some pages where I optimize the page speed at maximum and also do another fine tuning regarding other SEO criteria. Might this be helpful to raise the overall success of a website?

No that's cloaking. Be careful using this technic

You should not show Googlebot pages that only contain content meant to improve the page speed. This is considered cloaking. Moreover, Google is not using Googlebot to determine the load speed, meaning that you cannot serve content with that intention. In most cases, JavaScript and CSS content is external, and they are not loaded at a particular time. Do not do anything with the idea of speeding things up for Googlebot.
