SEO companies sometimes need access to Google Webmaster Tools and Analytics. It helps them to know the strength and/or weakness of your site. It provides them actual data to take actions accordingly. Otherwise, they may just have to assume it. And with actual data concerning to your site SEO companies have real time information to estimate the changes required or new features to implement. So, sometimes for your own betterment, you may need to grant partial and/or full access to your Google webmaster data.
In 2012, in an article titled "Safely share access to your site in Webmaster Tools" on Google Webmaster Blog, Google showed how you can share your Google Webmaster Tool with limited access.
You will find "Add or remove users" in the "Manage Site" from the drop-down menu. You will be redirected to the administration page if you select "Add or remove users". You can add as much as 100 users here. You can give permission as "Full" and/or "Restricted".  "Full" permission grant complete access to view and most ability to take actions. "Restricted" permission will give you access to view most data and take some actions.
