How much bandwidth does any site need?

Actually, I don't have any clear idea about the bandwidth. How much bandwidth is necessary for any site? Can anyone help me with that? It would be great if you can specify for what kind of site how much is enough.

This depends on the circumstances

You need to analyze your business idea. There are some factors for calculation

  • How much data byte has your website
  • Number of visitors of website
  • Number of returning visitors of website

If you enable browser caching of your website returning visitors will not use this much bandwidth as they have stored a major part of the files on their home pc already to be used from the browser cache. After all, you need to provide better information to make a calculation possible. If you just start a business with nearly no visitor then you can rent server with low power and bandwidth as it will be ok anyway.

Please provide more detailed information on this

Dynamic and static content

you can also check if a cdn might be helpful for you to reduce your bandwidth cost. Cdns carry out static data from their caches. If your website has a lot of static content then you can use low perfomace virtual servers in combination with a cdn like Cloudflare to carry out your website millions of times without any problem. The advantage of these cdns is that the static data is carried out directly from their caches. The origin server will not need much performance like this.
