Drupal Error "The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later."

I copied a drupal 7 website with plesk and phpmyadmin and got the following error: "The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later.". How can I fix this issue. I already cleared the caches manually in the database.

Read the Drupal error log!

There are many different places for error logs you should check on your server. The message "The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later." is only a general error of drupal. You should check the following files on your server:

/var/log/syslog.log

/var/log/apache2/error.log

and most important the drupal specific error log. You will find it here:

/var/www/vhosts/yourdomain/logs/error.log

I recommend the winscp software to read these files. This SFTP Client is really great and very helpful. I prefer to use it. Putty is also ok but it takes more time as its not a grafical solution.

Please show a screenshot of your drupal error.log here. Then I can have a look at it.

I forgot the username and the password

I forgot the username and the password für domain/apc.php to use the interface of apc to clear the apc cache. Do you know how to change it?

Alternatively you can restart php-fpm

systemctl restart php7.0-fpm.service

This will restart the php-fpm. With this also the apc cache gets cleared.  I looked at your screenshots and found that your php version is deprecated. You should update the php version. You can do this easily in the plesk admin area.

This was the solution!

I updated the php version and now site is running again. The strage thing about it is that another domain on this server with exactly same software runs smoothly also with the old version. Thats really starnge.

Thanks a lot!
